Home education gives families flexibility. We provide the structure.

Home education can be a brilliant option for families who want a more flexible, personalised approach to learning. But many parents also want reassurance that their child is covering the right content, building strong subject knowledge, and staying prepared for future exams.

That is where The Success Centre can support.

We help home-educated students receive structured, teacher-led tuition in the subjects that matter most. Parents can choose support for individual subjects, a combination of core subjects, or exam preparation depending on their child’s age, goals and current level.

Our role is to make home education feel less overwhelming by giving your child access to experienced teachers, clear learning plans, high-quality resources and regular academic guidance.

A note for parents about home education in the UK

In England, parents are responsible for ensuring their child receives a suitable full-time education from compulsory school age. Home-educated children do not have to follow the National Curriculum, but the education provided should be suitable for the child’s age, ability, aptitude and any special educational needs.

The Success Centre provides tuition, academic support, resources and exam preparation for home-educated students. We are not a replacement local authority, registered school, or legal advisory service. Parents remain responsible for their child’s overall home education arrangements.

If you are unsure about your legal responsibilities, deregistration, exams as a private candidate, or local authority expectations, we recommend checking official government guidance and speaking with your local authority.

Common concerns & FAQs

Do you provide full-time home education?

The Success Centre provides tuition, academic support, resources and exam preparation for home-educated students. We are not a registered full-time school. Parents remain responsible for their child’s overall home education arrangements.

Can my child study online from anywhere in the UK?

Yes. We provide online tuition for students across the UK and internationally, as well as face-to-face support at our Slough tuition centre.

Do home-educated children have to follow the National Curriculum?

In England, home-educated children do not have to follow the National Curriculum, but parents must ensure their child receives a suitable full-time education. Many families still choose curriculum-aligned support, especially for GCSE and A-Level preparation.

Can you help with GCSEs as a private candidate?

Yes. We can help students prepare academically through subject teaching, revision support, exam practice and exam technique. Parents are responsible for arranging official exam entries with an exam centre.

What subjects do you support?

We support Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science, Psychology, Computer Science, 11+, KS3, GCSE and selected A-Level subjects.

Can my child attend in person?

Yes. Local students can attend face-to-face sessions at our Slough tuition centre where suitable classes or sessions are available.

Can we choose only one subject?

Yes. Families can choose single-subject support or combine multiple subjects depending on the child’s needs.

Is this suitable if my child has left mainstream school?

Yes. We can support students who have left or are leaving mainstream school, including students who need a calmer, more flexible learning setup. We recommend discussing your child’s situation with us first so we can suggest appropriate support.

Do you offer resources and recordings?

Yes. Students can access resources through our online portal, and lesson recordings may be available depending on the lesson type and course.

“I’m worried my child will fall behind.”

That is one of the most common concerns parents have. Our support can help your child stay on track in core subjects, fill knowledge gaps and build a clearer routine around learning.

“I don’t feel confident teaching GCSE or A-Level subjects myself.”

Many parents are comfortable supporting younger learning but want expert help for exam-level subjects. Our teachers can support challenging GCSE and A-Level content so you do not have to teach everything yourself.

“My child struggles with confidence.”

We work with many students who need patient, encouraging support. Our aim is to help students feel more comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and improving step by step.

“We need flexibility because our family schedule is different.”

Home education often works best when families have flexibility. We offer online options and tailored support so your child can learn in a way that fits your situation.

“We need help preparing for exams as a private candidate.”

We can support with subject teaching, exam practice, revision planning and exam technique. Parents remain responsible for arranging exam entries as private candidates, but we can help students prepare academically.
